Little Bit of Wisdom

To remove crayon marks from painted walls, scrub with toothpaste, then rinse and wipe. This works well on enamel paints as well as flat paints.

Bet you didn't know...
...washing hands with sudsy soap and hot water removes 99% of bacteria! Special antibacterial products are not necessary!

Schedules
I just finished typing out the bi-weekly schedule for our employees here at New Life. Sometimes it is one of the hardest tasks I have to do! Keeping in mind the needs of our store on each day of the week,  factoring in the probability of a busy weekend or holiday, working in the requests for time off and trying to make sure you give each person the number of hours he/she is used to working. It can be a headache!

Then there's my day to day routine. Kids, wife, work, church, fun, SM, and now football all crammed in to each day. I stay up way too late each night trying to cram a little bit more into the day - and then suffer for it the next morning for lack of sleep. Now understand something - I'm what you call a "Messy" - a disorganized slob! You should see my desk, heck my office here at New Life (I share it with Todd - who is a closet Messy) is a pig sty! I never throw away anything. So when I get to work each day, it takes me a good hour to remember why I had this or that thing on my desk, which projects I didn't have time to finish the day before, and to figure out if I'm supposed to be some where and if so what time. Our employees know to stay out of the way if I have "that look" first thing each day! I've tried to get more organized and to get on a schedule, but it hasn't worked.

On a more personal level, I should be trying harder to be on better a spiritual, emotional and physical schedule! Spiritually, I need to be more disciplined to study and pray! I find it so easy to "skip out on God". How sad! The one who can help me the most with my need to organize and get on a good schedule, is the first one I blow off!  Emotionally, I need to spend more time being real, being honest. When you are open emotionally with someone, you reach a deeper level in your relationship. I need to start making time to be with friends.  I also need to "schedule" time to relax so I don't get stressed out and then take it out on my family or friends. Physically, well let's just say we all know how hard it is to schedule exercise into a busy life!

How about you? Are you a Messy or do you have it all together? What about your spiritual/emotional/physical schedules? Do you schedule time for friends and family? How about personal time? What time wasters in your life can you get rid of that will make your life less hectic? I bet if we tried hard enough to schedule our time more wisely, each of us could find several more hours to spend doing things that really matter!
