After watching the
conference games, I wondered if we really ended up with the best 2
teams for this year's Super Bowl. Of the four teams that played I had
picked NE and NYG to win but I really wasn't 100% sure of those picks.
During the Bal/NE game I saw some really sloppy football, especially
from Tom Brady, but if Bal can't beat NE when their QB is having a bad
day I guess the Pats deserve the title of AFC Champs! Then came the
NYG/SF game and man was I disappointed! I really expected one of those
2 to run away with it, but in the end Eli lead the Giants to victory
and the NFC has their Champ! With neither of the conference champions
really having a dominating game, I really don't have any idea who to
pick for the Super Bowl! I keep going back and forth, but in the end I
think I will pick... nope I'm still not sure :-)
Then this past
weekend I was totally disappointed!! I knew going in that the Pro Bowl
wasn't going to be this super exciting game, but I was so fed up with
the lackluster, half committed, no enthusiasm play of the pro bowlers
that I turned it of at half time! I didn't find out until tonight
(Tuesday) who won that stupid game! I couldn't believe how lame the
players played - I thought they were the "best of the
best!?!" Didn't look like it to me! I sure do hope this year's
Super Bowl is exciting, otherwise I'm going into the off-season with a
really bad taste in my mouth!!
OK - enough
complaining! Let's recap our Conference week results! Looks like the Consensus
went 1-1 with most everyone picking NE and getting that one right. 12
of you believed that SF would beat NYG and with that loss, Steve
B. fell into T-2nd allowing Ken
P. to take sole possession of
1st place for our post season with an 8-2 record. Congratulations Ken!
On the other end of the post season scale we have someone in 21st
place! By picking both losers for the Conference games, Ben
is now 3-7 for the post season! Ouch!
With only 1 game
left in our season, it's sad to think of the end being so near! But
it's not over yet, and if you are like some of us here in Lynchburg, you're
going to make the most of this last game by gathering together with
friends and family to eat and watch the Big Game on a Big
Screen! So go ahead and make your final pick of the season and then
start making that special dish you're gonna take to your Super Bowl
party!
Pick Well!!
(I'm leaving this
stuff up for now - enjoy!)

So What Do You Think?
Poll by Todd Whitaker
He's good but can't come close to keeping that pace -> Golden Tate -> Atari Champ -> I've played them and I like them -> Tim Tebow -> 3 -> Maybe not worth the time or money to upgrade -> Wsh -> 2-6 or 3-5 -> Earl Campbell -> Tonawanda Kardex -> one late pity win -> Require weeks 15, 16 and 17 to be divisional games -> NFC East -> Phi
OK, so apparently Phi has gone through it's ups and downs this year...from the dream team, to losing a lot and getting mocked, and back to a point at which the majority of us think they'll still win the division and make the playoffs...the problem is, they have already been eliminated. So do we really know as much as we think we do?
Or are we a bunch of amateur guessers? Well the chain ends there, so what about our other answers through the year...We said Brady
couldn't keep the pace, but he is only a few yards behind Brees for the all time passing record. Golden Tate had a better year than his rookie year, Atari Champ IS a cool name, video games are cool too. Tebow was just voted the #1 celebrity to have as a neighbor, he actually ended up quite average, but may make the playoffs. The NFL will probably end up in 3D soon. Wsh will actually be 2-6 or 3-5 for the second half. Earl Campbell was great and so were the Kardex. Ind got more
than a late pity win, late weeks are heavily divisional. The NFC East is a good race into the last week, and we already covered that whole Phi fiasco. So we were spot on with some of our answers and totally wrong on others, but its been another fun year of polls and we'll start all over again next year with a new chain - good luck the rest of the year and thanks for
participating!
