Return to Music Ed.
101!
Cindy Morgan - Elementary
- OK another neutral review. I think I'm still slightly
undecided about this one. She is finally getting back to
her roots and her sound from the first album. The
process is slow, but she's getting there. I like her
more upbeat stuff. She's got a great voice but she's got
to continue to pick it up a little. Great progress Cindy
- don't let hubby Sigmund change your mind.
Jason Upton - Faith - Real
interesting album. I think one of our readers Cody said
it best - he may be making this stuff up as he goes
along. I don't think that these are real songs, just
preaching set to music. Oh and then there's the random
yelling and rambling. The only reason that I'm playing
this one in our music department is that some guy called
me up and said if it's playing I might win $80.00!! He
said I might get another chance, so guess what's playing
in the music department. It's not high on my recommends
list.
P.O.D. - Satellite - I know I
already did a review on P.O.D., but now I have the full
album. I got a two week jump on almost everyone in the
country on this one! I even went to the official website
and bragged about having it. Very good album - if you
liked the last one, it's more of the same. The big hits
on this one will be Alive (already been to #1 on TRL),
Boom, and Youth of the Nation - they'll probably put
that last one on CHR radio to try to hit the
contemporary folks. Then those contemporary folks will
buy the album for that "cute song they like" and P.O.D.
will rock their heads off!! This one is high on my
recommends list. Go get it 9-11-01.
Michelle Tumes - Dream - I just
realized that I didn't really slam anyone this month.
And I don't plan on it for this one. This is actually a
good album even though it's pretty different than her
previous two. She doesn't have the whole ENYA thing goin'
on (Sorry Stuart) but it's just a good pop CD. I'd like
to see a whole "Live from down under" tour with her and
Rebecca and the Newsboys and Mortification. It could
even all be hosted by Kelly Vozar.
