This month I didn't
have a lot of strong feelings either way, but I managed to come up with
a few reviews for you to base all of your musical tastes on. Watch for
big stuff this fall - Caedmon's, Newsboys, DC Talk, Avalon, and much
much more. On to the reviews.
City On a
Hill - Various Artists - this has the same feel as Exodus from
a couple of years ago and I guess they figured "why change a good
thing". Good music, a little slow, but for all those big artists, what a
deal this is.
Jake -
Jake - If Plus One were all related and from Canada and ugly
they would be Jake. To name your band jake in the first place is
embarassing - no one in the group even has that name. They claim it's
their father's name, but that's like Wynona naming her CD Naomi. Don't
waste your time.
Crystal
Clear - Jaci Velasquez - I'm not real sure what to think about
this album yet. I don't know if I like the latin invasion of our
American music. Her other two albums were good but this one is very
different, very Jennifer Lopezish. What a word, Lopezish. We'll see how
this one plays out, but I think it will grow on me eventually.
Different
Man - Clay Crosse - If this were a different man, shouldn't he
have at least a better voice and singing ability?
Genuine -
Stacie Orrico - more music for the Brittany Spears lover, but
actually a very good album. Very impressive for some one who can't even
drive yet....She's 14 for heaven's sake - so don't stare at her too long
fellas.
Smash Hits
- All Star United - are they worthy of a "best of".....I don't
think so. All they talk about is themselves and how successful they are
- yeah...in Singapore! Shouldn't a Christian band talk about Christ?!?
That is all for
now - please email me about what you think about all of this but I'll
delete the responses I don't like. Until next time...Crank it up!
