"Original Thoughts Available Here!"

Final Version

Return to Music Ed. 101!

Freedom - Michael W. Smith - This will be the first time that I have ever reviewed an instrumental album, but I'll give it a shot. I guess this album is about what I expected, from when I had first heard about it many months ago. I don't think though that it is what I had hoped for. I have only done some casual listening, but I had hoped for a little more out of this amazing musician. I'm not saying it is bad, I'm saying it is different and I have grown to like it in a way. It's up to the listener to determine if they can take this much music, all with a similar feel, and listen to it over and over enough to purchase it.

Intermission - DC Talk - This album is not an end as some people thought, it is only the beginning in a new direction for this band of new directions. This should dispel the break up rumors, in that they still have several albums left in their contract. Solo albums are to come from each in the trio in the next nine months. Then another couple (at least) full projects. This band still has a lot left in them and I think that they will continue to be leaders in our industry. This particular album is just a best of with a couple of new songs. Typical DC Talk - I just wish they would hurry up and release the new songs to radio.

Beneath This Skin - Tara Leigh Cobble - Are you sure that this is you Tara??? Before I comment let me just say that I have played this for several people and have gotten very positive comments from all of them! We all also seem to have our list of people you sound like. From Jennifer Knapp and Melissa Etheridge to Ginny Owens and Jewel. What a variety. Here it is, though, Tara my official review of your album......Impressive. I put in the CD and thought "WOW I know this girl, and this is good." You told me not to lie, so I won't - I thought it was very good....but I prefer a slightly faster sound. Keep that in mind for next time. My comparison is to an acoustic Dakota Motor Company. Stick in some electric guitars and I'm seeing you as the next Davia. Good work Tara - highly recommended if you like any of the aforementioned artists. By the way - good talking to you at Expo!
