Aimed at off-road and extreme sports enthusiasts,
the Ford EX is powered by a supercharged version of the new Explorer 4.0-liter V6,
producing 375 horsepower. The Ford EX features detailed composite body sections on a
Chrome-Moly frame, and an ecto-skeletal design that allows much of the structure and
components to be visible.
For off-road traction, the EX is shod with 33-inch BF Goodrich all-terrain tires mounted
on 5-spoke 17-inch cast aluminum wheels. Brakes are 13-inch drilled discs with four-piston
calipers on the front and rear. The dual stainless steel exhaust system exits at the sides
and a full-size spare tire is cradled behind the seating area.
The interior features a full roll cage and seats wrapped in black-and-tan all-weather
material system that moves to the side for easy entry. Other details of the Ford EX
concept include a 5-speed manual transmission and four-wheel-drive system. |
