Return to Extremeness! Nothing surprises God. No disaster, no exciting thing - good or bad, no sickness, no sin. He sees it all. He knows it all. In fact, He knows it all even before it happens. Even when He created earth, He knew that at this exact moment in time, you would be reading SM - as silly as that might seem. This of course means that He knows everything about you and what you have done for Him. Is He pleased? You can't hide from Him, you can't trick Him, you can't outwit or outdo Him. He's God. But believe it or not, some people don't get that. On the other hand, it is NOT God that CAUSES everything to happen. He allows certain things and He may or may not respond to things, based in part on whether or not we prayed about it. God can do just about anything He wants to do, but He CAN'T do everything. There is an old riddle that says "If God can do everything, can He make a rock that is so big that He can't lift it?" Well, the problem is the very first assumption, therefore, the answer is no, He can't do that. This may come as a surprise to you, but God CAN'T do everything. He can't lie, can't cheat, can't commit adultery....He can't sin at all. He can't send Christians to Hell or let non-Christians into Heaven. He can't be defeated, can't break His promises and He can't make YOU do anything. I am saying all of this to say that some of us have the wrong idea of who God is and what He can do. Let's give God the respect He deserves and know that our prayers are what frees Him to work in our lives. See, God won't impose on you and God won't force anything on you. You have to open up to Him and invite Him into your everyday life. This all begins with inviting Him into your heart. If you haven't done that part yet, now is a good time to do it, and then invite Him to lead and guide in every other part of your life as well. After all, He is the only one that knows your future and how to help you to get through it. Don't ever get as busy as we are here at SM. We are pushing ourselves to get these issues out on time and it just ain't happenin'! I don't even hardly watch TV or read anymore. It's all work, sleep, eat and SM. Well, it's not quite that bad.....but close. Life is doing good otherwise. Christmas season is upon us and I haven't even begun thinking about it. I'm thinking about doing like Shawn and ordering everything on the internet so I don't have to go shopping. I am the type that is usually in line at Wal Mart at about 9pm on Christmas Eve with all of the other 947 freaks that are just like me. Speaking of freaks - I am in the market (well sort of) for another car. The license plate FREAK is available in Virginia! I am thinking about getting it. I can't decide if I want to go new or used on the car, people have tried to pursuade me both ways and I'm still not convinced that I don't want to go new, but I don't have the money for that right now. I am taking donations though, so you can send them in anytime! Isn't the internet a fun place - I am not on as much as I want to be, see the above section on lack of time. It's gotten to the point now where you can find anything you want online - what a great concept. I can see the day where all entertainment of every sort will be on the same unit. I saw a guy with an integrated system like that on TV, but he said his WALL (literally - it took up the whole wall) cost like $150,000. I obviously don't have that - see the above section on no money! I hope everyone out there is having a wonderful day - I don't want to continue to bore you with my ramblings, so I'll leave you with one final thought. This is my favorite quote so far dealing with this bombing campaign the US is on: "I'm not going to shoot a $2 million dollar missile at a $10 tent and hit a camel in the butt" |
