Are you a murderer?
"Of course not" you say. But let's look at this from a Biblical view. The Bible explains in Matthew 5:21-26 that everyone who continually thinks evil thoughts about another believer or harbors anger towards them commits "murder". That's a pretty powerful statement, but guess what - it's straight from the mouth of Jesus. A fleeting thought followed by repentance is one thing, but if you keep thinking about it and you become more and more offended and hardened about the whole situation, that's serious. It says that you should settle matters quickly and if you are at the altar (in modern times - if you are praying for forgiveness or even if you are praising God), stop what you are doing and first reconcile the situation before you even continue your prayer time. Sins like murder are punishable by death in the old testament. Now this isn't exactly like the physical act, but in your mind, almost the same result is achieved. This topic is very important to consider and almost all of us are guilty of this from time to time. Let's really take this to heart and try to mend relationships and not let this happen in the future if we want to abide in God's will. Wouldn't the world be a better place if we all did?
